Urbana Volunteer Fire and Rescue Santa Run
It’s that time of year again for our Santa Run. We will be using the Glympse App again this year, this app allows you to see our location in real time and check the routes provided so you can be prepared for Santa. The night of the run we will post on social media a link to follow Santa along with instructions.
Urbana Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be doing a Santa Clause drive-by on the Fire Apparatus December 16, 19, 20 starting at 5:30pm and ending when we complete the route listed. If the weather does not cooperate follow us on Facebook to see if we are able to reschedule your area. Due to the size that our area has grown we are posting our routes and asking that you help make this a success. We WILL NOT BE STOPPING this year and trying to keep a pace of 3-5mph. Our goal is to hit as much of our community as we can to bring as much joy as possible to as many as possible. Please refer to the Map and route that is provided and see where you live and which night we will be by your area. Unfortunately, due to the size of the apparatus and the large area we need to cover, if you do not see your specific street listed you may have to come out to the closest intersection. The following is a list of how you can help us make this a great success for your families.
• Have your shoes and coats ready for when you hear the sirens and air horns, come on out to see what’s coming.
• Know what night we will be in your area and check the written route to see if we are coming by your house or if you will need to walk to the closest intersection to wave to Santa.
• Please pass on to all social medias you use for your friends and neighbors
• Be understanding, we cannot pass every house and every street. Some housing areas due to configuration of the streets we may be coming out your back door instead.
Special note to our neighbors who came out early last year our sirens do carry far, if people could post when we pass their house it should help update your neighbors on when we could be by their house. Also Follow us on Glympse App.
